I always start out with good intentions, but then life gets in the way. So here it is, almost a year has gone by since the last post.
What have I been up to in that year? Well, I’ve been attending a weekly watercolor painting group at Black Creek Arts Council here in Hartsville.
I received two first time entry ribbons for a quilt I entered into the Swamp Fox Quilters member challenge. One of those ribbons came with a membership in the Quilters of South Carolina guild and I attended their fall retreat where I took a doll class. (I of course still have not finished that doll!) I entered a quilt into a juried show sponsored by SAQA and was juried into that show. My quilt Collard Greens will be displayed at the Ruth Funk Center for Fiber Arts in the Southern Accents show starting in May. I joined PAQA South http://paqa-south.org and have entered two quilts into a juried show they are sponsoring. I’m waiting to hear.
I was also juried into Artisans of The South Carolina Cotton Trail as a fiber arts member and am excited to be participating in my first show next month in Georgetown, SC.
And as you can probably guess by the header photo, I got a new car. It’s a 2011 Synergy Green Camaro SS, 6 speed manual transmission with a 6.2L corvette engine…VAROOM! I have not been this excited about a car since I custom ordered a suburban back in 1988.
